I’ve had many invitations to put balls in my mouth in my time, some vastly more appealing than others, many accompanied by charming requests to ‘show us yer tits’, which naturally, I also found difficult to resist. But none of them made me quite as eager to wrap my lips around a pair as these tasty little peanut butter protein balls. Of course if any of those other offers had included a coating of PB I might have been far more eager to oblige…
If you’re after a tasty little high protein, healthy fat packed snack that won’t leave pubes in your teeth give these guys a whirl. They’re the perfect combo of nutty, sweet, cookie-doughish and just a lil bit salty to deliver satisfaction guaranteed – unlike other ball related encounters.
Get this stuff
1/2 C Peanut butter (or almond butter or your preferred nut butter – just make sure it’s actual nuts not those nasty jars full of nut like substances)
1/2 C protein powder (my preferred is Bare Blends Vanilla Whey Protein Isolate)
1/4 C desiccated coconut
1/4 C almond meal
1 TBL sweetener of choice – stevia, rice malt syrup, maple syrup, honey
1 TBL coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla
pinch-ish of salt
3-4 TBL water to bind
Optional: extra coconut to roll in
Do this with it
Throw everything except the water into the blender and blitz to form a fine crumb. Add the water slowly, one tablespoon at a time and watch the mixture start to clump together – you only want to use just enough to get the mixture sticky enough to bind together, not turn into a sloppy pulp.
Roll into balls, toss in coconut if it tickles your fancy (or, if you’re like me and can’t be fucked just leave them naked) then into the fridge to set to pop a ball or two in your gob when hunger strikes.
